Elections
This year there will be a General Election for the office of Mayor and for Councilmember for Districts 4, 5, and 6. Each of these will be for a 3 year term. There will also be a Special Election for Councilmember District 3; Un-Expired Term (1- Year) and for amendments to the Pleasanton Home Rule Charter.
The first day to file for these offices will be January 17, 2024. The last day to file is February 16, 2024 by 5:00 p.m. There is no filing fee.

Early voting will be April 22- 26 and 29-30, 2024.
On Election Day, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.

Pleasanton City Charter Article IV; Section 2. Qualifications of Officers
The Mayor and each Councilmember shall be residents of the City of Pleasanton and have the following qualifications:
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must be a qualified voter of the State of Texas.
- Must have resided at least twelve (12) months next preceding the election within the corporate limits of the City of Pleasanton.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony.
- Must not be disqualified by reason of any provision of any other section of the Charter.
- The Mayor and each of the Councilmembers (or a candidate to become Mayor or Councilmember) shall be a resident of the City (for the Mayor) or district (for Councilmember) which he or she represents or intends to represent at the time of filing for office and at all times during the term of office.
