REQUEST A DRIVING SAFETY COURSE- Late or incomplete requests will not be accepted.

You may be eligible to attend a Driving Safety Course or a Motorcycle Safety Course for the dismissal of your ticket. You can only take a Driving Safety Course for ONE violation.

You are eligible for a Driving Safety Course if:

  1. You have a valid Texas Driver’s License,
  2. You have not completed a Driving Safety Course for ticket dismissal in the past 12 months,
  3. You have current proof of insurance,
  4. Your violation was not in a construction/working zone with workers present,
  5. Your violation was not for passing a school bus,
  6. The violation did not involve an accident,
  7. If the speed was less than 25 mph over the speed limit,
  8. You do not have a Commercial Driver’s License or permit.
If you are eligible, you may sign up for a Driving Safety Course by appearing at the Court (with Driver’s License and insurance), emailing the court with the Driver’s License, insurance, and request form to municipalcourt@pleasantontx.gov, or mailing in a copy of the Driver’s License, insurance, and request form on or before your first appearance date:

  1. Submit the Driving Safety Course request form filled out completely,
  2. Provide the Court with a copy of your valid Texas Driver’s License,
  3. Provide the Court with a copy of your valid insurance,
  4. Pay the court costs required at the time of request: $144.00 or $169.00 in the school zone.
DO NOT TAKE THE COURSE BEFORE OBTAINING COURT APPROVAL. ONCE APPROVED, INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU IN WRITING- IN PERSON, BY EMAIL, OR BY REGULAR MAIL

REQUEST DEFERRED DISPOSITION (CONDITION PERIODYou may be eligible for Deferred Disposition if:

  1. You do not have a Commercial Driver’s License,
  2. The violation was not in a construction/working zone with workers present,
  3. The violation did not involve an accident,
  4. If the speed was less than 25 mph over the speed limit,
  5. *If at the time of the offense you are 25 years old, you will be required to complete a Driver’s Safety Course as a mandatory condition of Deferred Disposition*
If you are eligible, you may request Deferred Disposition by appearing at the Court, emailing the Court, or mailing the Court on or before your appearance date:

  1. Submit the Deferred Disposition request form filled out completely,
  2. Provide the Court with a copy of your valid Texas Driver’s License,
  3. Pay the court costs required at the time of the request- contact the Court for the exact amount of the deferral fee.

ONCE APPROVED, INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU IN WRITING- IN PERSON, BY EMAIL, OR BY REGULAR MAIL.
